I’ve stumbled upon an amazing resource that I simply must share with you. Kate, over at Kate’s Homeschool Math, has put together an incredibly practical guide for choosing the perfect homeschool math curriculum for our kiddos.

Now, let’s be real: navigating the world of math curricula can feel like wandering through a maze. Especially for a momma like me who was never good at Math (I ended up in Sales & Marketing – go figure!), it’s a bit like decoding ancient hieroglyphics (the writing system of the ancient Egyptians).

But fear not! Kate’s guide breaks it down into five straightforward steps. From figuring out what you really need in a program to avoiding unnecessary complications, she’s got you covered. It’s like having a math-savvy friend whispering sage advice in your ear.

What I love most? Kate’s reminder that there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. As parents, we know our kids better than anyone, right? So, finding a curriculum that aligns with our child’s unique needs and learning style is key. It’s like tailoring a bespoke suit for their mathematical journey.

I’ve already dived into Kate’s recommendations, and they’re intriguing! Programs like Math with ConfidenceMath U See, and Singapore Math each bring something special to the table. I think I already know the perfect fit for my little learners.

Speaking of Math U See, it sounded familiar—I came across a post by Umm Khadeeja of Mums Unstuck (formerly A Muslim Homeschool). She used Math U See for her children, and she spilled the beans in this post. Oh, and she even shared her reviews in a recording—exclusive content for us ladies in our telegram members-only channel. How could I have missed that?

As Malaysians, we have the advantage of using Shopee to easily purchase Singapore Math materials. They’re available at a more affordable price compared to the American websites.

Kate dives into a review of Singapore Math, which is definitely worth exploring. Whether you’re a seasoned homeschooler or just starting out, Kate’s insights will guide you toward a math curriculum that fits your family’s needs.

However, since I’m particularly interested in scripted curricula, I plan to explore Singapore Math in 3-4 years, إِنْ شَاءَ ٱللّٰهُ, once my children are a bit older.

Here’s to happy math-ing and empowering our kids to embrace those numbers!
