Educational Choices Disclaimer

In our homeschooling and parenting journey, we have found value in a variety of resources, including parenting books and homeschooling curricula authored by Western, secular and Christian writers. These resources provide a general approach to education, and while we may encounter concepts or religious references that don’t align with our Islamic beliefs, they can be easily filtered, in shaa Allah. We approach these materials with discernment, filtering their content through the lens of our Islamic values, guided by principles such as those outlined in the aforementioned article, which we’ve included for further context.

While we benefit from the educational insights these materials provide, our use of them does not imply an endorsement of the authors’ personal beliefs or religious views. Like many Muslim educators who adapt secular methods, we aim to gain a broader understanding of homeschooling, embracing advice that complements our Islamic principles and referring to Quranic verses. Our goal is to share content that is both valuable and in harmony with our faith, selecting insights that enhance our homeschooling experience while rejecting any elements that conflict with Islamic legislation.

Homeschooling can sometimes feel like uncharted or foreign territory when starting out, and these resources offer a helpful glimpse into the journey ahead.
